Biopsi, shave removal dan excisi merupakan prosedur dasar yang secara rutin dilakukan oleh dermatologist untuk mendiagnosis penyakit, mengurangi gejala, dan mengobati kanker. Dari perspektif koding, 3 prosedur tersebut digambarkan berbeda berdasarkan tujuan dan kedalaman pengangkatan jaringannya. Kode biopsi khusus spesialistik tersedia untuk letak anatomik tertentu, dan kode excisi jaringan lunak soft tissue excision dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti kode standar untuk excisi kulit pada tumor tertentu. Dalam publikasi Stanford Health Care tentang Biopsy, disebutkan bahwa diantara berbagai jenis biopsy ada yang disebut excisional biopsy dan incisional biopsy. Seberapa Penting Operasi FAM Fibroadenoma Mammae? Sebenarnya, fibroadenoma mammae tidak memerlukan operasi. Hal ini karena benjolan dapat hilang sendiri seiring penurunan kadar hormon wanita menuju menopause. Peningkatan hormon wanita memang dapat menyebabkan ukuran fibroadenoma membesar, misalnya pada masa kehamilan atau ketika sedang menjalani terapi penggantian hormon. Namun, tumor akan mengecil lagi ketika kadar hormon kembali normal. Walaupun begitu, untuk memastikan tumor benar-benar jinak, dokter akan menyarankan beberapa pemeriksaan tambahan, seperti USG payudara atau mammografi Pemilihan antara USG payudara atau mammografi dilakukan berdasarkan usia Anda. Biasanya, wanita di bawah 35 tahun akan disarankan pemeriksaan USG, sedangkan usia di atas itu disarankan menjalani pemeriksaan mammografi.
